Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the “Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Development of Biomass Energy Heating”. The “Opinions” clearly state that biomass energy heating is an important measure to address air pollution, accelerate the application of biomass energy heating in regional civil heating and small and medium-sized industrial park heating, and build a distributed green, low-carbon, clean and environmentally friendly heating system.
According to the planned goals, by 2020, the installed capacity of biomass cogeneration in China will exceed 12 million kilowatts, the annual utilization of biomass formed fuel will be about 30 million tons, the annual utilization of biomass gas will be about 10 billion cubic meters, and the total annual direct substitution of coal for biomass heating will be about 30 million tons.
It is reported that as a green, low-carbon, and clean economy renewable energy heating method, biomass energy heating mainly uses biomass cogeneration and biomass boilers for heating, directly replacing fossil fuels on the user side and playing a huge role in replacing coal-fired heating in counties and rural areas.
